The Olympic Torch came through Invermere! What a great event! It's always amazing to see the community come together; it seemed as though the entire town was there! Trevor and I became first time home buyers on December 7, 2009. Well actually; we bought a patch of dirt with the crazy notion that we will soon build on it. This being our first land purchase AND first build, it occurred to us that there is not that much information out there for what we are hoping to accomplish. With this addition to my blog, we'd like to share our experiences throughout the building process; the laughs, blood, sweat and tears!
Friends and family will tell you that it looks as though I have never done a day's worth of hard labour in my life... and they'd be right! Luckily, the true brain behind the operation, Trevor, is a carpenter with one of the local custom home builders and brings a lot of experience to the table. He is also starting his Geothermal company; and we look forward to incorporating geo into our "green" home. I, on the other hand, will be bringing comedic relief and Tim Horton's to the site...
As it stands right now; we have gotten a contour map drawn up by Cameron (O2 Geomatics) and will be creating our floor plan with another local company throughout the winter months.
